Dr George is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. He was appointed to the post in August 2018. He specialises in interventional cardiology and is experienced in performing a variety of invasive cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (stent implantation). He is skilled in using the latest modalities of intravascular imaging like OCT and IVUS, intravascular physiology (pressure wire study) and adjunctive therapies like rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy and impella heart pump, to ensure the best possible outcome for his patients. He is also skilled in performing angiogram and coronary intervention with very low contrast and x-ray usage.

In addition to his expertise as an interventional cardiologist, Dr George is also a specialist in treating patients with hypertension (high blood pressure). He runs the only specialist cardiac hypertension clinic in the region and treats patients with difficult to treat hypertension and young age onset hypertension. He is very experienced in all aspects of general cardiology and sees patients with a variety of symptoms, including chest pain, breathlessness, murmur, dizziness and palpitation.

Dr George graduated in 2004 from the university of Kannur, India. He did his early medical training at the Oxford deanery and then at the Wessex deanery. He then completed a period of clinical research and was awarded an MD postgraduate research degree by the University of Hull and York for his research on the prevalence of glucometabolic disorders in acute coronary syndrome and their prognostic influence in the long-term cardiovascular outcome. He completed his cardiology training in the Northern Ireland deanery where he sub-specialised in coronary intervention during the last two years. He then completed his subspecialty training in interventional cardiology on a prestigious fellowship at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
